Golfing opportunities abound for residents and visitors in Clay County at adjacent Cherokee County and in nearby Georgia’s Towns County. Two eighteen-hole courses in Clay County are Chatuge Shores on Myers Chapel Road at Lake Chatuge and The Ridges Country Club on U. S. Highway 64 East. The Ridges complex also has an elaborate clubhouse with two restaurants open to the public. Two other courses nearby are Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris, Georgia, and Cherokee Hills in Murphy, North Carolina. All golf courses are within a 20 to 45 minutes drive from Hayesville. With effective planning and advertising, these three courses could be nationally recognized for their golfing opportunities.
