The Hinton Center, as it is usually called, is on Hinton Rural Life Road and was officially incorporated as a mission agency of the Southeastern Jurisdiction of the United Methodist Church in 1960, serving as an advocate for smaller developing churches in the Southeast. The Center’s purpose is to act as a connection for assisting small United Methodist Churches in becoming healthy and effective, to provide opportunities for involvement in missions, and to be a place of hospitality, spiritual growth, education, and renewal.
