The Clay County History Wiki, an ongoing project of the Smoky Mountain Sentinel newspaper, is a tribute to the people of Clay County. The wiki was founded in June 2008 by Harrison Keely, Editor of the Smoky Mountain Sentinel. Much of the content in the wiki is contributed by noted historians in Clay County, primarily Carl Moore, who donated much of the content from his Clay County history book.
The mission of the Clay County History Wiki is to provide a place where local history stays alive, updated as time progresses, fused by the people who live, breathe and work in Clay County, North Carolina.
Other contributors to the wiki include Zach Howell, an employee of the Sentinel Newspapers.
